By: Sunrise Team
21 February, 2016

Welcome to our Static Caravan Buying Guide. Buying a static caravan for the first time can be a daunting process as most people aren’t familiar with static caravans or mobile homes and don’t know where to start. Here at Sunrise Holiday Homes, we pride ourselves on our customer service, and we are happy to advise you on every aspect of buying a static caravan. Whether you are looking to put the caravan in a holiday park, or on your own land, we can help you every step of the way. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get, and our answers:

Where Can I View Sunrise Holiday Homes Caravans?

If it’s on our website, it’s on our showground! We won’t advertise anything we don’t have in stock, so if you see something you like just give us a call to make an appointment at our showground in Weeley Heath, Essex. Viewing is by appointment only as our stock changes daily, so please call at least the day before to save a wasted trip. Follow this link for directions – http://www.sunriseholidayhomesltd.co.uk/contact/

What is Included in the Price?

All of our prices include FREE DELIVERY within a 100 mile radius, as well as a full valet, gas, water, electric, and chassis inspection prior to delivery. This is a standard ‘drop off’ delivery where you may need a 4×4 to move your caravan into place.

Does Sunrise Holiday Homes Offer a Warranty?

We are one of the few dealers in the country who can offer an insurance-backed warranty. Covering anything and everything in all of our homes up to 10 years old. Your pre-owned static caravan or mobile home will come with a 6 month warranty, with an option to upgrade for up to 3 years! Also exclusive 4-year extended warranties for new homes. I may have access issues and require assistance getting the caravan onto my land; do you offer a service to help me with this?

Yes, we can assess your site first on Google, and make a site visit if need be. Our reliable and experienced transport company will quote depending on the distance, and how much work is required to get the caravan in, leveled, and sited professionally. This is known as the hassle-free option and costs start from £500.

Can I Put a Sunrise Holiday Home Caravan on a Park?

We can supply onto a 10 ½ month holiday park in Clacton on Sea at very competitive prices, alternatively, we can supply onto any caravan park you wish, provided you have checked with the park that you are allowed to bring on a caravan you have bought from a dealer. Unfortunately, about 90% of parks out there no longer allow you to bring on your own caravan, so please ensure you have written permission before purchasing from us or driving over to view.

How Much Does it Cost to Transport a Caravan?

We normally offer free delivery on every home up to 100 miles. If you are in this area don’t worry, we go anywhere! The price depends on not only the distance, but the area, as some areas require escort vehicles, tolls, and alternative routes due to the load size. If you get in touch with us, we will quote at cost price; we do not make any profit on our transport to keep our prices competitive!

When We are Finished with Our Caravan, Will you Buy it Back from us?

Yes, of course, we are always happy to buy back our caravans, just give us a call when you are finished with it and we’ll quote you what we can pay. We can offer a guaranteed buy-back, for example, if you need something during a build, the industry standard is 40% of the value back within 12 months. This is a great fallback if you need it gone quickly. Alternatively, we will advise you on how to sell it yourself privately on Ebay or Gumtree for not much less than you would’ve paid for it!

Do Your Caravans Have Heating?

Yes, all of the caravans will have some form of heating. All of them will have a gas fire in the living space. Some of our caravans have electric heating; some also have full winter packs with double glazing and domestic gas central heating systems.

What Sort of Gas Do Your Caravans Run On?

Static Caravans usually always run on Calor bottled LPG (Liquid Propane Gas), there are some instances where a caravan is fully electric, and even sometimes they can run on domestic gas, but this is not common. If you have any questions about buying a static caravan that isn’t listed here, just give us a call and we’re always happy to help.
